There's a trailer for Return to Monkey Island. No, it wasn't posted on
April Fools, but shortly after.

I knew about this way before you posted this. We have been discussing it
in detail. Our main problem right now is convincing Earl Boen to get out
of retirement. Do you have any ideas?

If I had good ideas I'd turn them in to a Kickstarter.

What about the new art style? Do you like it?

I have no idea what this thread is about. You may have been too
enthusiastic with your quote trimming device. I assume your art is ASCII.

Has Thunderbird stopped showing subject somehow? Anyway, just three more
weeks. Will you buy the game? I am not entirely sure yet myself. I am
hoping that another Aglamian will stream the game so that I can have a
look first.

For a newsgroup about Monkey Island, where the posters tend to return to
after a prolonged absence, the subject "Return to Monkey Island" is
about as generic as it gets.

I won't be getting Return to Monkey Island (the game, not the post). At
least not for a while. Full Throttle and Grim Fandango are on the list,
I've got those laying around.

Grim Fandango is great, though the tank controls can get a bit annoying.

As for RtMI, I will wait for the serious reviews first.

Well, serious reviews are gonna hate it. They'll spend half the time
complaining about the game having anachronisms and the other half
bemoaning the lack of first person view and ray trace graphics.

The 19th be the day it reaches our shores. Arrrrr.

Well, because of social pressure I did actually buy it, before the
release date even. I have gotten to Stage IV so far.

I really like the game. I enjoy playing it and it is a true Monkey
Island game. It has a great atmosphere, great music and the drunk
Picasso graphics style isn't that bad at all. It could have been a
little bit less extreme, but I still like the visuals. Story is great
too, it really refers a lot to the first two games that I never played.

Controls are great as well. It no longer takes you 5 minutes to get
from one side to the other side of an island.

There are a few things that I dislike. First of all, the puzzles are a
bit too easy sometimes. Sometimes when you think you would probably need
to come up with some clever plan to solve a problem, it is a bit of a
let-down that you just need to combine two items and that's it. Second
thing that bothers me is that the text sometimes overlaps. It looks
messy, as if I am playing a beta version.

What do you think of the game?

You imply there is a SOBER Picasso style.

Nothing yet. I won't be playing it for a while. But I've only heard good
things so far. Anyone complaining hasn't actually played it because of
the graphic style.
